Rammed Earth

Biscuit to David, (half a biscuit to BMcD)

They claim it is the largest load bearing rammed earth structure in the UK. The outside has now been rendered in lime and then lime washed though the inside is still bare. It doesn't like water though as a leaking pipe eroded part of it.

Very cheap materials cost but expensive in labour apparently. They also had to do load bearing and wind tests to satisfy building control.

I might have an office in one of the workshops shortly.

Well, since it was specially for Biff and given the clue, I just Google Imaged Largest Recycled Building. After a few pages, I saw this pic. and thought, Hmm?

Of course I've just tried it now and not been able to find the link anywhere...

If no-one objects, here is a fairly unusual building, the sole survivor when the rest of the town was destroyed, although its owner was killed. Any idea where?

I reckon we should start with the country. It's difficult to see clearly but the roof tiles could be Roman-style, so possibly somewhere Mediterranean?

And yet the windows look British.
