Please shut up about the bath tubby--I adore that bath and am trying hard to restrain myself from blowing the budget and buying one for chez Plummer-------oh well Ill just have a kit kat instead.

Gosh me too Jocelyn :roll: In December when we purchased this house I was promised one in the ensuite we were going to convert from a bedroom. Now, however, Pip has persuaded me that for the two of us with only occasional house guests one bathroom will suffice

I guess I've been spoilt as we came from a house with three bathrooms (and four loos :shock: ), whereas at the moment there are only two loos across ground and first floor and as our bedroom is on the second floor, it is a right royal nuisance during the night, so we do plan to add ensuite loo/basin facilities up there.....

No tubby for me till we redo the family bathroom then, which unfortunately is in reasonably good condition and of decent quality (Sottini, Darryl, Bette etc)......

No, no, Zebra - you're entirely missing the point of the Kit-Kat! Eating one (or more) is something you do instead of work, not as part of it! It's called 'displacement activity'.

No wonder your little mentioned back has been playing up--it really is not a good idea to eat a kit kat whilst trying to get into the bath--a recipe for displacement!!!

Thanks Mims--our bathroom is really tiny, and very '80's , a bit harsh on the eye after years of roll tops and proper thunderbox loos.

I seem to recall that Moo eventually found an appropriate style of bath for her current home--there was some debate and help amongst us all, so I hope Moo sees this and comes along to help me out by reminding us of her choice.

:lol: Actually I am feeling particularly tiny today, just came into Heathrow yesterday and I am concerned that there is some form of alien* invasion underway and they got the scale slightly wrong when they built the clone warriors. People considerably smaller on my usual side of the world.

I am indeed, currently cleaning the apartment! I clean when I leave, I clean when I arrive, honestly I wonder where all the dust even comes from. Still, exciting things should be happening a bit later, some pictures going for re-framing and a delivery

I know just what you mean Jocelyn, having inherited a very 1990s bathroom here - steel bath, blue mosaic tiles, large quadrant shower cubicle and very ugly taps (but all very good quality unfortunately so no real need to replace ) when we've also been used to roll tops and high level loos. At least the bathroom contains some very nice wood paneling though.

We've been fortunate to get hold of a very rare - but reproduction - ornate gothic style high level loo for the adjacent cloakroom that is exactly the same design as the one we put in our last house. Apparently very few were manufactured due to the cost of casting, so we've been very lucky to find a second one Not for the total purists, obviously, but extremely attractive, nonetheless!

I already have the perfect hand basin and taps! Believe it or not, I found the set that I had installed in my restoration project in Burnham Market. Norfolk Reclaim had it so I bought it back for a few pounds-- I knew that the current owners had done some refurbishment and removed one or two of my 'improvements ' made 10 years ago and I was on the look out! I also have a butlers sink awaiting my attention-this I acquired from a skip in BM four or five years ago---bit rip and strip happy in this area so always good for skip dipping! Currently trying to talk my joiner into telling me which kitchens he is ripping out from some pretty good nearby properties that have recently changed hands!!!! I blame Kirsty Allsop !!!!

Excuse me, Me!, but that's not a butler's sink! It's a garderobe - the medieval term for a s***house (also the term for a clothes storage cupboard, from which we get 'wardrobe').

The effluvia dropped straight down into the moat. Fish for lunch, anyone? :x

Excuse me one & all, this is the "Grump of the Day" post. I am detecting far too much frivolity and frankly downright happiness and contentment in these recent postings, speaking as one who has been somewhat absent lately.

Now, for some balance. I've just been on a lovely holiday - the Isle of Mull, very beautiful it was too, fantastic weather to boot. "So why are you grumpy then Feltwell?" I hear no one ask. Well, in the time honoured tradition of grumpy people everywhere, I shall tell you anyway.

15 miles from home, and a stone cracked the windscreen of my motorhome. Once at home, I found that the wiper on my car has decided to stop working, and Mrs F's car refused to start. "Never mind, these things come in three's" said I. I then went inside and found a found a nice letter from West Mercia Police telling me that I'm a very naughty boy, must drive more slowly, and collecting these sort of points doesn't entitle you to any free glasses.
