I think a window restoration job has just moved up the list (as has asking Mrs F to be a *little* gentler when dispatching wasps in future)

In fairness to my better half, she whacked the wasp with a newspaper and only gently hit the glass with her knuckle, she swears. Must have hit a weak point in the old-but-not-original glass.

If you are going to put the shut off valve for water supply to the bathroom in a false ceiling, don't install it without considering where the aircon unit and inspection hatch that are also sited up there are going to go. Yes we have bathroom "issues" and the guy needed to shut off the supply. He could see the thing with his phone camera, he just couldn't get to it. None of which leaves us any closer to solving the actual issue of a strange water related mark on the wood floor of the bedroom! best guess is leaking supply pipe behind the shower stall, which is tiled with big bits of marble, I suspect not an easy fix.

:lol: but we are talking Singapore bathroom here, so aircon is a standard fitting. It's just not possible to find a good punka wallah anymore.

It's the inverse square law again - the more expensive the finishes, the more likely that pipes behind them will leak.
The likelihood is increased if the finishes are hard to replicate.
Hope it doesn't turn into a Flanders & Swann episode.

Well I wasn't that encouraged when the "plumber" who turned up was the same man who arrived previously as the "electrician", maybe he is also a gas safe engineer...... I hasten to add I don't chose these folks, our unit isn't owned by us, so I have to work with what I'm given as they say :roll: It did make me very glad that when we renovated in London I had them put a nice easily removed panel in the kitchen units to access the water and gas shut offs.
