Just occurred to me, there is a statuary guide line for councils to have an eight week turnaround on decisions regarding planning applications.

Middi, I thought the same thing, but after looking into it it seemed I didn't have a case for complaint because the clock only starts ticking on the eight weeks once the application has been registered. If it sits in someone's intray for 3 months before being registered, that 3 months doesn't count. So, the 8 week assurance isn't worth the paper it's wriitten on.

Anyway, I've calmed down a bit now, and what is done is done. I still think that although I broke the letter of the law, I did not break the spirit of it, and still feel harshly treated.

I would like to say that over the short time I hae been using this forum, I have found it very useful and increased my knowledge of period properties, methods of repair and the materials to use. On reflection perhaps my original posting in this threat was out of place. It wasn't information or a request for some (the type of postings I found so useful in the past). It was more in the way of a rant and a complaint. For that I apoligies, and I hope I haven't done anything to put people off posting here - I shall try and keep my postings more constructive in future.
