The issue here is that CO'S,BCO'S whoever, do not have the right to be rude and sharp in their comments at any time. Less us not forget that even though they have a job to do , they are at the end of the day working for and on behalf of the people.
Without our conservation attitude and money , where would these guys be. If we were to adopt a knock down and rebuilt strategy to buildings there would be no need for these people. Yes , we get it wrong , or even cheekily ( never in my case ) make alterations to our building without consent, but where do these people get off on being dam right rude.
Now if you people don't like my opinion on the way civil servants should behave towards the general public who are paying their wage then that's your opinion, however you do not find me belittling your opinion.

The world is becoming a place where attitudes are becoming less tolarant. People are all to easily able to stipulate policies , and no common sence is prevaling.
Sometimes you people on here lose sight of the other person on the end of these posts. Sure we love old buildings , and we want to keep them, but sometimes a little thankyou for the work done , and a little less harshness in dealing with arising problems would go a long way to restoring faith in the beurocratic system.

The original poster should deal with the problem by moving to Norfolk. We're all lovely COs up here, we just like to roll over and have our tummies tickled once in a while.

A certain CO of my acquaintance (some 28 years ago) didn't actually opt for the tickled tummy, but he did go for my wife's chocolate cake in a big way.
