Yes, spot on Flyfisher and I was just about to offer a name plate to the person who got it right.. :lol:

It's a reaming tool to clean both the inside and outside of lead water pipe which has a thicker wall size than waste pipes etc (about 29lbs per foot if i remember right) so that a copper pipe or the brass tail of a union or tap connector could be put inside it and soldered on. This was called variously a 'taft' or 'finger joint' although it had different name in different regions but called a finger joint as only one finger was needed on a small moleskin cloth to wipe the solder.

Yes,it has more to do with her than any of the other options. It's a kind of slasher that will cut through shrubs and thick stems on saplings for example and it really does work. It cuts through blackthorn runners that sprout up in the field away from the hedge like a knife through cheese. :lol:

Well it is for the left foot as it happens. It's a leather shoe or boot insole protector worn on the bottom of the boot when digging with a spade. Gardeners used them a lot.
