If I were serious about wanting to sacrifice 37 hours a week for 15 k (I know you'd all miss me on here too much to make it do-able :wink: ), I'd ask you to dig out that contact to find out what a Volunteer Development Co-ordinator does. But I'm not serious.

This thread sounds just up my street but I have missed all the fun as I have been in India for the last two weeks and did not want to hog my father-in-law's PC or pay the Rs150 per half hour for hotel internet access.

Joce - A Volunteer Development Co-ordinator is usually in charge of volunteers - probably recruiting, training, managing volunteers. I should think it would be really interesting (but then I'm biased as I write courses for the voluntary sector and do some volunteering myself).

Not sure that sounds like a worthwhile exchange, and anyway managing volunteers is an absolute nightmare. People think that because they are not being paid they don't have to behave particularly well, so if something nicer turns up they just go off and do it. You have no leverage whatsoever, not like their bonus is going to be some derisory amount come the end of the year. The good volunteers get overworked and eventually get fed up.

Joce I think you've misunderstood the advert - at that salary I suspect the word "volunteer" probably refers to the applicant and not those whose development the applicant will be co-ordinating!!

Fair points, but I don't think net-a-porter give a discount based on postcode and a girl has to keep up appearances.

Tiny things can get quite pricey .... even knickers and shorts will set you back 275 pounds

In the interests of upholding the ancient traditions of our juducial system and Joce's inalienable right set out in Magna Carta to a fair trial by her peers, I would, I suppose, be happy to consider the evidence of the alleged misdemeanour in flagrante if anyone would like to furnish me with it. :wink:

I'll then be in a position to definitvely confirm or repudiate Penners' statement above. I certainly wouldn't be taking Joce's uncorroborated confession above at face value.
