Sorry to have missed it, sounds like a fine gathering and it would have been great to meet you all. Instead, I spent 6 hours in the car travelling home with Mrs F and Les Enfants Terribles - the youngest of which screamed his head off for about 5 of those hours

I can't complain about the little chap really - something's not right with him, he's been wanting to be cuddled a lot today, which is most unlike him. He's off his food as well, which again is not at all normal. He'll soon bounce back though, and better for it to happen at the end of the holiday than the start!

Schoolmarm - You are very kind saying about my repointing. Its quite easy here because we live in a rubblestone cottage and doesnt need to be as neat as brick. I find it relaxing.

Please could we see some more pics of the food? I'm aware how much work she put in to preparing all the dishes and they sounded delicious. Would be lovely to see them as a substitute for eating them with you all!

I'm afraid this was taken after (one of the) groaning board(s) had been relieved of half its contents, but, here you go:
From the top: magnificent ham (Lincolnshire may be famous for the things it can do with a pig, but this was Ambrosial in its quality of flavour), Cumberland sauce (perfect with the ham, and Joce had managed not to eat it all while making it), eggs (Joce's chicks', and quails'), vol-au-vents (roast vegetable and goats cheese and, sorry, I didn't try the other ones), superb game pie number 1, potato salad, salmon en croute a la Mme Penners, game pie number 2, mushroom and rice salad, conventional salad with very locally-grown tomatoes, Jelly a la Juju (I think). Missing are the chocolate cheesecake and two banana and buttersctoch trifles, and the bread and cheese which in itself was really too good for the likes of us, and several other things that are unaccountably missing from my Pimm's sodden brain.

Just back from a windy (though uncharacteristically dry) Welsh hillside and it seems that, as expected, I missed a rather wonderful gathering.

Even so, it was good to be able to put a few more faces to names, so thanks for the photos.

Might I suggest that Jill was very close with her naming of the 'team' photo and that transposing Moo and 'marm might be the final answer?
