unfortunately as the years progressed old chap penners , running out of puff after all the previous years of catastrophic burnings just couldn't find the energy to either blow his candles lit or blow them out.

3rd declension dative plural should be Pennertus, not Pennertis. My prep school Latin master would have thrown the wooden board rubber at me for that howler.
