Here is a thread for anyone who'd like to join me in moaning about mess.
On Saturday the house was clean and tidy, the tools in their proper places, the bedroom finished, the soft aromas of woodsmoke and Diptyque candles wafting about. Now we have begun on the 12 elderly doors and chaos is resumed.
There is a thick layer of dust everywhere, doors that, alright, were dressed in hideous yellowed brilliant white are now stripping off indecently. One has been blistered with Nitromors, one has been palm sanded and now is white and buff spotted, one has a big hole from where dad tried to prise off a panel and realised it wasn't a panel , and one has a great unsanded splice sticking out. The workbench is back in the tripping over position.
I think in future I have to insist on a 2 month respite period between rooms.
