middi said:I got a nice " expresso " coffe maker and a couple of dics at the end, very nice too.
Aha, so that's what the couple of dics were for....middi said:I answered the door to a couple of two 6 feet tall ,blond, aprrox. 25 year old girls with legs up to my kneck holding a cine-camera, asking for me.
Surely that remark wasn't addressed to me?Moo said:young man

Dear Penners
I hope that you don't mind me contacting you. I am a researcher for a broadcasting company called twofour. The Discovery Channel have recently commissioned twofour to make a new property show. I am looking to make contact with people who renovate properties from "wrecks to riches" with the aim of us following the renovation from the very begining. Very recently filming began on 2 of the projects, therefore I am eager to establish links with possible renovators such as yourself, friends or colleagues. We would need the renovation to have not have been started yet but to be ideally begining the build within the next 6 weeks aiming for completion the end of 2008.
I really appreciate any help you can give and if you have any further questions about the show then please email me or give me a call on the direct number below.
Kind Regards
Clare Kiernan
Dear Clare
Having a keen interest in the conservation of architectural heritage, I'm not very enthusiastic about the concept of "renovation from wrecks to riches". The PPUK forum tends to attract people who are more interested in sympathetic conservation than making a quick buck.
I'm afraid I can't be of any help to you.

Having just registered with period properties i came across your discussion about Tilty Mill. I am a researcher for a broadcasting company called twofour who have recently been commissioned by the Discovery Channel to make a new property programme. I am seeking projects such as Tilty Mill to follow as part of the show. After reading the report as to why the application was turned down i can see how disappointed it must be for those who are involved with the property directly and those who are interested in the renovation of such fantastic buildings.
Recently the filming of 2 renovations has began and I am seeking further projects that the show could potentially follow. I would be grateful for any contacts or information that you may have. Please do not hesitate to call or email me.
Dear Clare
Thank you for your message re Tilty Mill.
Unfortunately you have got hold of the wrong end of the stick. Far from being disappointed, I am delighted that permission to convert the mill into a house has been refused, and indeed I appeared as an expert witness at the public inquiry specifically to oppose the plans, which would have ruined a very important historic building.
The many local people who also objected are now looking at ways in which they might be able to take over the mill and restore it as a working mill, not as yet another house in an unsustainable location. Rather than yet another "Property Ladder / Grand Designs" effort, perhaps your company would be interested in making a programme about a community that is interested in saving its historic buildings for their own intrinsic interest, rather than wrecking them for the maximum profit?
I won't hold my breath.
