His son was known as Morris Minor, and went on to invent one of the most famous British cars of the 1950s and 1960s.

I once knew someone who had a Morris Minor fail its MOT test due to rotten timbers. Apparently they were deemed to be structural component of the vehicle.

I wonder if the panel infills could have been repaired with wattle and daub* though?

NORMAN ARCHITECTURE: the 11th century's churches may be described in this way, although early medieval architecture would be called Romanesque in Europe. Building style is characterised by simplicity and massiveness of construction - think enormous pillars and hugely thick walls. Arches are rounded.

I love what Osbert Lancaster has to say "For the amateur the Norman style possesses another great advantage; of all the medieval styles it is by the far the easiest to recognise. Once you have assured yourself that the arches are round not pointed, you are in a position to pronounce with conviction that it is a Norman building at which you are looking. And in nine cases out of ten you will be right."

Mr Hughes, please may I now be upgraded from D- to C+?

William Morris (October 31, 1786–June 29, 1858) was a businessman and political figure in Upper Canada. He was born in Paisley, Scotland in 1786, the son of a Scottish manufacturer. His family came to Upper Canada in 1801, where his father set up an import-export business. The business failed and his father retired to a farm near Elizabethtown (Brockville). After the death of his father, he opened a general store with his brother, Alexander. He joined the militia during the War of 1812.
