But one has to have standards. Personally I wouldn't accept anything less than shag pile and cut moquette.
Our current house insurance people don't want to know unfortunately. My wife has used google and has got in touch with various companies but a lot had to be ruled out for various reasons I think.Nemesis said:It's possibly too obvious - but I put static caravan insurance into google and got a page of hits!
Have you tried your house insurers too? It may be that you can extend the policy, as it's on the land.
I hope you'll get that new carpet laid urgently. We can't have you living in such squalour! :wink:MdB said:the new caravan (it needs a new carpet)
Our current insurance people aren't interested of course.Unfortunately, none of our insurers will offer cover for this situation – the only time there would be a possibility of acceptance on our scheme is if you already had the building insured with us, then you moved into the caravan whilst works were taking place
The best starting point would be to approach your existing contents/buildings insurers to see if they can assist.
The old caravan (see first page of this thread) has been in position for nearly 40 years and got us the bit of paper from the council. The new caravan will therefore be completely legit and is not time limited so will be staying once the house is complete. The downside is that all our relatives will want to come to stay (which is part of the point really).grays85 said:we currently have no insurance as they wanted a letter from the council stating they had given permission for a temporary accomadation and the council wont issue a letter in case we decide not to move into our house and decide to live forever in our caravan  best of luck let us know how how you go on
