Stripping exterior render

Last year we had a quote to strip off and replace the render on the timber framed part of our house. It came in at about £8000 subject to the condition of the timbers underneath and included the cost of scaffolding (about 2K). Our render had been very badly patched with cement over wire mesh and windows fitted with lovely expanding foam, from which the render has fallen off. The quote did not include final finish of limewash etc. So yours doesn't seem to be too far off the mark. (BTW still waiting to start on ours as I left it to hubby to engage architect for elevation drawings. It's only taken him 6 months to send the email :? , so we should be ready to go by the time the frost risk is gone at hubby's current rate of procrastination!).

Ah I see. So hubby has ascertained that a 6 month delay is acceptable in planning the next phase of our renovations/restorations, whilst cogitating whether or not he should consider letting wifey pay the oil bill, after assessing the amount of nagging he is in for .
