Just thought I'd share a quick before and after photo. Clearly it's not quite complete, the render on the downstairs will wait until the spring now. And there are various bits to finish off.

Looking good, you've made a huge amount of progress since I saw the house only about 3 months ago - a staggering amount of progress in fact, you should be rightly proud of what you've achieved.

So, although I realise you're still a fair way off from having a finished house (if such a thing exists - I've never lived in one!) do you now face the prospect of a winter inside a dry and warm house? Very different to what I saw only recently!

Thank you Feltwell. Yes! I am facing the prospect of a winter inside a dry and warm house! There is one small bit of roofing still to do, and the external doors are only temporary and don't fit. However I have walls and roofs and windows! No more boarded up holes.

As for more "after" photos, the interior is still largely in the "before" state.

It looks so much nicer now, hard to believe its the same place, in agent speak it would definately qualify as a bijoux cottage. Good luck for the interior phase, that will be really exciting as it will become much more like a home very quickly.

Well done Zebra, you definitely get a prize for Wonderful Minimisation of Carbuncles. Whoever extended the house like that needs their head examining, but you've managed to turn it into something that's appealing and interesting looking ( which will be even more the case once the render is on the breezeblock)

I expect you've put a huge amount on the value too, though I'm sure that's not your motivation. Lovely work!

Ahem, yes, those are the glazing labels still on a month after the window was glazed. Haven't got around to taking those off yet!

The cottage looks so beautiful now, I almost wouldn't believe it's the same place. I'm sure the inside will be lovely too, and so much warmer and drier because of all the work you have done.
