ps Joce - your link to the Floor thread reminded me that you are surrogate aunt to a flock of delightful children and that, in case you didn't already know, you have the perfect day out for them almost on your doorstep. Belton House isn't just a super NT property, but it also has a huge, magical childrens' adventure playground in a piece of ancient woodland. I saw it for the first time on Tuesday when Kathryn took me, our niece and her two girls, and her glamorous stepmother + niece and nephew for one of the best days out ever. Definitely not to be missed.

As I'm forced against my will to mention my back, I just want to make it absolutely clear that the chandelier-swinging was purely a therapeutic activity, to stretch the spine. It was strictly on doctor's orders.

Not that my 'Pearl Beyond Price' (otherwise known as Her Indoors, the Old Ball & Chain, She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed, the Trouble And Strife... etc.) seems to believe that.
