He may well be, but I like his work a great deal more than that of many other self-seeking self-publicists, aka artists. He also has a high regard for traditional craftsmanship, unlike some other prominent s.s.s.p's in the art world. I thought his three television programmes on 'taste' and class were brilliant, though as he said when interviewed on Radio 4, he could have made three programes just about the variations of Middle Class taste. The different types of interior design and aspirational (or otherwise) home decoration were quite relevant to many of the concerns of this Forum. Most of us could wrily recognise ourselves in one or more of the types of people he visited - very entertaining.
