I would have posted a picture that was only virtual kittens and flowers, but we both know how Mr P gets all crotchety and grumpy about the cutesy lickle fwuffies and that he thinks goggies far superior, so in the interests of balance and forum harmony.......

Thanks for all the lovely messages- they've been incredibly cheering during what's been one of the hardest weeks of my life, with me spending many, many hours like a beetle on its back struggling to right itself.

If anyone says to you that you're to go in for keyhole surgery and you'll be just fine 3 or 4 days later don't believe them. This has happened to me twice now with supposedly simple procedures becoming complicated open surgery and all that entails - which is that the basic functions you never think about are stripped away for a period, with every step taken and meal swallowed and digested a major breakthrough. Thank goodness my parents are around as I'm even more useless than one of the kittens.

I have been out to the hens and down to the kitchen but it's very hard, made worse by a post op infection that's given me a middling fever. Let's hope for a better week next week. Thanks again for cheering me up.

Yes when having operations under "local" they have a nurse in theater who is there to say "your doing really well!wont be long now!" Glad to hear you are on the mend Joce,take all help offered and don`t be "brave" if you are not happy with progress tell somone! (not been able to post before due to slow broadband)
