They were fine before I spent a couple of years crawling around and kneeling down on roofs.

My father was an orthopaedic surgeon - the bad news for you is that "roofer's knee" is a well-known condition, which is difficult to ameliorate.

Water on the knee is, of course, much easier to resolve. You just wear drainpipe trousers.
