Graham - most days I see your updates in Another Place and am inspired by your commitment to your community, particularly its yoof. It's Big Society stuff before Big Society became, well, Big.
Wednesday we start work on finding funding to build an extension to the community centre so we can have a dedicated youth facility. I have my loose women receiving training in youth work, I've persuaded the parish council to fund ongoing costs of the room, heating, lighting and the staffing costs, I've got local businesses who have drawn up the plans, paid for the planning application, another will be doing all the on site H&S, and we aim to have it all built by local tradesmen.
And when I say I, I mean the groups I work with, so the youth forum, the senior citizen group, the community first responders etc all working together
