Feltwell runs an internationally important chain of DIY enterprises.

:lol: That's a bit like saying that the bloke who cleans the windows runs Buckingham Palace.

Feltwell used to play a small part in the running of a chain of DIY enterprises, but currently moves lots of electrical things in big metal boxes around the world, attempting to sell them for more than he paid for them in order to make someone else wealthy. Not terribly exciting but it pays the mortgage.

May I ask what type?
The band I play in (using the term loosely) has just clubbed together to buy a new (used) 1300 watt PA system. I can't use it indoors at more than about 1/3rd volume otherwise things fall off shelves.

I spend 13 hours a week doing payroll, staff recruitment/training/deployment and H&S.

Some odd time here and there is spent on translation and brochure design.

That's the only playtime I can afford. I have far too much 'proper' work to be doing with the house!! :lol:

I'm also in the nearly kept man state.... I sold my business, started one with Jo... mainly her doing the work but I do a little media related work, producing dvds/training and cpd cd's, extremely succesful, so I do lots of voluntary stuff, Young Enterprise, The Princes Trust and Village agent work in our locality, encouraging residents to take part in what is now called The Big Society!!
One of the groups I initiated, known as The Loose Women have just won several awards, from The Community Safety Partnership and today won best community and took overall winner from the southern staffs regeneration awards.
This takes up so much of my time I do less and less on the house, which is what I'm supposed to be having time off for
Taking Jo to Windsor to meet the Queen though will be a bit of pay back.

1000W if we manage to get the simulations to look sensible. Its for a big Chinese company to churn out in volume so we are trying to remove all the big heavy expensive bits whilst still keeping the audio to a high quality. It is a very interesting project (if you are into geeky electronics) and there will likely be a patent on the design which isn't something I've done before. I guess it will be quite a while before we have any actual hardware. Sorry.

Are you any good with computers? If you are you could learn some geeky computer technology and become a programmer. It's lucrative, and, according to Chris, anyone can do it.

Could you open a bathroom business? Design - fitting?

Advertise yourself as a heritage builder - able to work with lime - they seem to be in short supply.

Since when has veering off topic been a problem here? ;-)

We are aiming for 20kHz 1000W with a modified class D. There are good reasons why Class Ds are used for bass amps and not higher and it is those issues we are trying to get around. I think we will do it but we ain't there yet.

Oh that's a very pretty shade of green.

My little bird was painted on glass and fired. Just taken it out of the kiln. Same technology as used in Medieval times except my kiln is electric.
