Absolutely! I thought everyone did.

The real reason is much more mundane. I had them made in Singapore because when I tried to get them done in the UK the material I liked was going to take almost 2 months from measuring to actual curtains, and last time I was here I wasn't staying long enough. I took window measurement back with me and the curtain maker told me how much to buy. I ended up finding an end of roll which was a bit more than needed, but still cheaper than less material at full price per meter, hence leftovers.

Something tells me that not all the embellishment are original. Nice bold carving on the upper parts of the arms looks OK, but why the puny carving on the lower parts? It could go for as much as one term's worth of school fees. Responsible thing to do would be to pass I think, especially as I could soon be joining the ranks of the unemployed.

Estimated at £3,000 - £5,000 it fetched £8,125 including Christies' extortionate 25% buyers' premium. At least two people must have thoght it was right.
