Both halves of the sitting room have pretty mouldings, and the back half has a surprisingly splendid ceiling rose (the one in the front is, I suspect, repro), all gratifyingly clogged with paint.
I anticipate many enjoyable hours of klingstripping while the builders get on with the boring stuff.
We've just discovered the magic of Freecycle!
One of the things we've been desperate to get rid of is John's tropical fish tank (complete with a pair of whopping great hysterical fish).
Then someone suggested we put it on Freecycle and found an enthusiastic taker within ten minutes. A lovely man who wanted it for his small son, and has just loaded it into his little car and driven off into the sunset.
In the meantime fifteen e-mails have landed in my in-box!
It's left us with a lovely warm glow.

Freecycle is a good way of getting rid of stuff, used it a lot when we were moving.

I found myself a real bargain on "that" auction site, when it was purchased it cost over £2000 and I payed £133! for the table 4 chairs and 2 carvers, there are a few bits that need attention but i'm sure I can drag myself away from the lime plaster dust for a little while :wink:
Which only goes to prove my point - the bottom's fallen out of the market!
Not long to go, now. What with notifying all the official bodies about our change of address (I'm sure it wasn't so complicated in the olden days) and parcelling up all those piles of books, we've still not got round to emptying the loft. Lord knows what we'll find up there!
