We need news of the calf Robin, I've been thinking and thinking about that but was a bit shy to say anything, in case you thought I was soft.

My guests like BC so much they haven't gone. Not sure they ever will go. They're lovely though, so it's fine.

The chicks are all born now, Queen Hippolota and Queen Boediacea and three others! If you can think of any other good classical names let me know.

The hatch rate wasn't brilliant, a quarter, but they are the best chicks in the whole world so I don't mind. They're really fluffy now and keep chasing eachother round the hat box then falling asleep in their feeding bowl. (a tiny ebony dressing table pot) They're the cutest things I've ever seen.

Chicken names? How about:

Stymphalídes - man-eating birds with beaks of bronze and sharp metallic feathers they could launch at their victims. They were pets of Ares, the god of war and had toxic poo.

Quetzalcoatl - Aztec god whose name means "feathered serpent", he was related to the god of winds, as well as arts, craft and knowledge.

Or if you have a big'un, go with Hraesvelg - a Norse giant, who in eagle form, creates the wind by beating his wings.
