And then I read the recent article in New Scientist about how the imminent thawing of the sub-arctic permafrost is likely to release many times more methane (worse than CO2 remember) than the industrial revolution's entire output of atmospheric carbon.
Perhaps it would be better to let mankind just carry on in blissful ignorance? Imagine the outcry if The Age Of Stupid miraculously manages to galvanise everyone's attention only for people to realise it's too late to do anything about it.
