Providing, that is, your neighbours on both sides and 1 door down are not doing major extension/refurbishment work. We have had builders on either side for 3 years now. Skips taking up the parking spaces, brick dust (one house jet cleaned completely), trees down, jewson lorries squeezing in betweeen the parked cars cracking wing mirrors ( the drivers do try very hard not to) but it is difficult.grrrrrrMoo said:There's a lot to be said in favour of turn of the century terraced house.
Penners said:I find it frustrating to listen to music while mowing. Even with headphones, the noise of the mower drowns out much of the more subtle passages of music. Do you have noise cancelling 'phones? If so, do they really work for something as loud as a mower?Flyfisher said:I shall select the White album on my ipod while cutting the grass today.
I may be aged, but I think it's a bit unfair to regard me as turn-of-the-century. Is it my bay window that makes you think that I'm terraced?plasticpigeon said:there is a growing number of turn of the century terraced house owners on here too.

For a while I felt a bit insignificant on here with so many people owning Elegant Georgian properties, picturesque cottages and Medieval mansions!
Thanks, Moo. Your idea is probably a good one for your own purposes, but you're forgetting the gender difference. Women can do several things at once. As a man, if I were to try and watch the show while simultaneously doing something like sanding, the outcome would be bloody fingers.Moo said:Penners, the trick is to watch it with the sound muted while doing something rather boring (sanding?), so that you only have to glance up every so often. Tania's the last of the four, if that's any help.
