Here's the outfit that I shall wear when you invite Mrs P and me to take tea.

It's terribly sweet to get these nice comments but I just like pretty things, and spend far too much time thinking about them.

Good idea. And whilst we're waiting for all the pictures of elephants in the home to come flooding in, here's my elephant painting, painted in 2004 by Wan Pen who lives near Chang Mai. I watched her do it. Her trunk went dipping in and out of the pots with the greatest of care, and she stood back and looked at her creation admiringly. I was impressed by her sense of colour and composition (this painting is a lot better than the others in her class, I picked the nicest), and especially impressed with how she overlaid the red on the yellow to create shading. After she'd finished her painting, I watched her have a nice game of football with her friends. It's still the only football game I've watched with fascination.

Ah, that'll be the elephant deterrent signals that are broadcast from mobile phone masts. We have a mast about half a mile from us and it's extremely effective - I've never once seen an elephant anywhere near our house.

Are you sure, no Disney Dumbo eggcup or mug hiding somewhere? no plush toy left behind by the grandchildren ? Those masts are not guaranteed 100% effective!

I was rather hoping that people would have the whole elephant, not just an amputated part of it. I don't think people are looking hard enough, there must be some lurking around all these lovely period properties, big ears or little ears all welcome.

Joce, the room looks lovely - well done. I confess to being typically male and being very poor at the whole topic of "finishing touches" - but I have made use of a left-over window from my garage recently......

It was intended to go outside, on a 12' high old garden wall (back wall of a neighbour's outhouse). Mrs F decided she liked it too much and wanted it at the head of the stairs - I'm still not quite convinced it's right. Not that I want to move it in a hurry, it weighs a ton (it's about 6' tall).
