Pretty much what I do - although I put a half post in at right angles to the diagonal brace, rather than use the next post along. I'm going to start putting a sunken cross piece on corner strainers in future. Some of my earlier ones (6 yers ago) are lifting out, despite braces and everything.
I love fencing - the end result is satisfying but it is the hardest physical work I have ever ever done. I have a petrol driven borer, and now a heavy duty one for the tractor which will make a huge difference since we live seem to live on solid rock, covered with lots of pieces of rock and about 3 femotmetres of soil covering that :shock: .
I don't have a smasher though - so all the posts are knocked in by hand with one of those 2-handled tubes. That is hard.
The spacing of Joce's posts looks quite wide.
