The Roman Blind was a find at the Stately Home Boot Fair--all ready made and ready to use---hence my silly question about fixing it to PVC---- with that, I shall proceed with great caution!!!

Jocelyn, the problem is that you've not completed your journey over to the dark side...fixing anything to anything in a house with uPVC windows is invariably done with "No More Nails" :roll:

uPVC windows are only covered with plastic, aren't they? I've always assumed (no actual experience, fortunately) their structure is based on extruded aluminium, in which case the previous suggestions of self-tapping screws would seem to be the answer, especially for something fairly light.

Depending on the type of fixings for the blind, it may not even be necessary to fit a batten first.

The problem with no nails being used to fix a Roman Blind baton to anything, let alone wood to PVC, is that OH is somewhat careless with blinds and anything that is stuck--h e is one of those people who is good at breaking things :!:

Seriously Joss - I wouldn't trust NMN to stick anything to uPVC.

The consequence of having a temporary bathroom is that one tends not to worry about cleaning it too much, and washes out one's tools, mortar buckets etc in the bath. Eventually of course, ones pipes get clogged up with sand and muck, and one has to take all the plumbing apart.
Makes me convinced of the best course of action being - when the proper bathroom is done - having all plumbing accessible behind removable panels....

I despair--------well, I did acquire the art of conducting with a baton when I ran the school orchestra and brass band, however, when it comes to using a batten to attach a blind within the window recess it seems that I must be careful.

All this talk of bathrooms - I'm so jealous! My bathroom is the spinney and the tennis club Major works to our well and rainwater chamber this spring, and as a consequence no water in either.

Well done Joss, nice to have a find as well! Recycling drapery makes so much sense.

Another BH Weekend, so planning a couple of jobs...

Lime-render the ceiling (bisquit-boarded) of the bedroom ive spent the last few weeks working on. That should give me a crick neck!
Fitting out a walk-in wardrobe in the alcove of said bedroom (that job has been delegated to my son)
Wife to give the orchard another cut (weather permitting), or if rain stops play to start limewashing the walls ive finished.
Our aim to have this room finished in the next 2 weeks
