Heating fuel access problems

I had always leaned toward wanting solar panels as my back roof faces directly South. Nephew doesnt like them as he says would ruin look of lovely clay tiled roof and costly before you could reap any benefits?!

I tend to agree with your nephew about PV panels on a lovely roof. We're fortunate to have plenty of space so I installed my panels as a ground array. But it's not only PV panels that can help reduce energy costs. Home batteries can be charged on cheap-rate overnight tariffs and then discharged during the day. Size things correctly and you can run a house at the low-rate cost for 24 hours. I draw very little power from the grid at the full rate of around 28p/kWh and almost all of it is at 7p/kWh, so that's a 75% cost reduction even without taking into account the PV panels.

I'll show him your post. To be honest - its only me and the neighbours who would see the panels anyway! If ive got to have electric i want it as cheap as i can get it!!

While i decide - got myself 2x calor gas heaters. Absolute godsend! I cant lift the bottles so only drawback is will have to pay for delivery.
