If you ever get back here let me know. Doesn't matter what time of year you visit the weather is always the same. High of 30 degrees, night-time low around 25, chance of thunderstorms in the late afternoon. Some months more prone to rain than others, but no real Summer or Winter !

It's unlikely I'll get back there. I was involved in a project to implement the passenger information screens inside the new CAL and NEL trains. It was a fairly simple project for our part but the wider project logistics meant that access to the trains was rigorously controlled and fairly limited, which meant I spent about 4 weeks out there in all for about 4 or 5 days of actual work, so a bit of a holiday on expenses really. Still, it was good fun playing real trains up and down their test track before everything went live.

Yes equator marginally south of us. You obviously weren't trying hard enough! The chap(s) that did this got into big trouble, well one of them did, the other one nicked off home I think. It was a while before anyone realised it wasn't an advert :lol: vandalism is so rare here.

That's rather shocking for Singapore. Things have clearly gone downhill since I was there. Did I read somewhere that they've even relaxed the laws on chewing gum?

It wasn't a Singaporean that painted the train, they caught a Swiss national and a Brit was thought to have helped ! I heard they allow the nicotine gum but not the regular, I don't smoke or chew the stuff anyway, so I'm not sure what the current status is. Think it's still banned, but I could be out of date.
