got up at 4 am , left at 5am , rain was so bad could only manage 30 odd mph , forgot keys so had to ruturn and go home to get them. rain and traffic was a complete nightmare , several accidents along the way (not me thank god) , rain followed us all the way to suffolk. had to met someone delivering bricks at 10 who didn't arrive until after 11 because of the bad weather , unloaded 700 bricks into garden and paid for them then after the guy left we barrowd them into the house only to find there was really 560 and not 700 so we don't have enough to cover the floor , faffed around then left for home , met an accident on the a14 that held us back for hours , finally made it home at 10.30pm driving through gale force winds with the engine check light on in the dash all the way but realised that we forgot to measure up the roof so will have to do it all again over the week end. my eyes hurt , my head hurts and my bum hurts (no , from driving :shock: ) so its a shower (probably cold for whatever reason) a beer (probably none left) and then bed (probably wont be able to sleep).

That was what I thought to but I could only muster the last dregs of Glenmorangie out of the bottle, Although i do have a rather interesting 1/2 bottle of "Mount Everest" my daughter brought back from Nepal.............

My day was lovely, thanks. Wove ribbon through new 19th C comporte. Painted some old picture frames. Took chickens porridge, spinach, mash - they were very happy about that. Learned how to use the quote button on here. Made exciting museum plan with Nigel for next week - anyone else want to come? And visited Jaqy to compare Holkam's oil up against Liberon, and was amazed again at how much she's done, and spent the whole afternoon gossiping.

Preparing for a dinner party tomorrow, burnt the chocolate whilst melting it for a mousse,( I do miss my AGA HEATSTORE . ) couldn't get all the shot out of the pheasant, pastry went lumpy.

I'll be glad when midnight has struck, just in case the increasingly strong wind does any damage to our house-- this will be the first big storm we.ve experienced in this house.

i am jocelyn , thankyou. i found some ouzo so that should send me off lovely. on a brighter note we uncovered some perfectly preserved ancient wattle and daub walls beneath a hardboard covering today in our bathroom so it wasn't all bad.

I've always been jealous of the raptures that you boys experience over whisky - not a taste I've acquired despite best efforts.

I'm in bed with the electric blanket and a large glass of dusty red wine - where's Chris? In some den of iniquity no doubt!

i can only drink jamesons and j.d. my self , sweet whiskey , although i was quite keen on a glass or two of nice poteen from time to time when i was living in ireland. .

And I got soaked, and all the dog towels are wet and dirty, so I'm having to use my towels on the hairy monster. After living in a van for over two years, I'm trying to save up my washing for when I move into the house, but may fail dismally :roll:.
