off topic but , have you all put up your erections this year? ms robgil is helping me erect ours in the living room today. we are going for a traditional erection this year , nothing fancy. trying to stay away from the coloured balls , more home made traditional decorations. not a massive erection but space here is an issue so small and sweet but i do believe size doesn't matter , its more what you do with it that counts.
so , have you erected your Christmas trees yet?

We're planning two erections this year. One on the lounge floor as usual, and one outside if the weather is nice enough.

Indeed we went into the woods yesterday to get both erections - so succesful was our foray and so large the result that it was a quite struggle fitting them both in the back of the Landrover to come home. Mrs FW and I were pushing and pulling them back and forth for quite some time, I can tell you.

familywiggs its a good job you had mrs fw to tug on your erection in order to fit it in place , a poorly fitted erection could have left you all over the road , especially if conditions are slippery , not good if taking the back lanes.

Yes indeed, after a chilly foray with chopper in hand yesterday the erection occured in the afternoon, I have one around 9 feet, last year it was bigger because it touched the ceiling. Now it is up to my wife to tinker with the balls too. It will probably stay up for around 3 weeks from past experience.

Without being drawn into the inevitable double, nay triple, entendres, I would just note that, yet again, I was fooled this weekend about how a smallish-looking cutting from the top of a tree can suddenly grow to quite massive proportions when trying to actually get it into the house. There must be some sort of TARDIS-type thing going on that distorts space-time around this time of year. A tape measure would, of course, be the sensible answer but Mrs FF maintains that such an approach is not compatible with anyone carrying a Y-chromosome.

mmm, where would we ladies be without the glorious erections of you boys? But I had to manage on my own this year- struggling and heaving to drag it out of the wet bed at the front, and then trying to cram it into a container far too small. Now at last it's up and the theme is woodland animals!

Always a problem cramming into a small container, it helps if there is some moisture present to stop it from wilting and dropping :shock:

Thanks for the tip on the photo posting, I was trying to use the attachment function from my hard disc but got the error message. Are you sure you are not being economical with the truth and cropping out the illuminated Santa, Sleigh and Rudolf on the roof ? :lol:

You know how that came about, of course?:

When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure.

Then Mrs Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more.

When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where.

Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered.

Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drunk all the cider and hidden the liquor. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. In the UK, Christmas deliveries are handled (in the inevitable and perennial absence of the Royal Mail) by FATHER CHRISTMAS.

And, for the record, he does not shout, "Ho ho ho"! (well, not in our chimney, anyway.)
