How about a flock of very noisy chinese geese.. they are quite intimidating en masse and as good as a watchdog.

My neighbour used to use manure and a lot of it. People never hung around once it was put out, that and scrapings from the pig pen. Gadzooks it stank, but it worked.

I think that a brilliant solution geese are vicious to intruders, legislation does not affect them the same way as dogs, that will see them off, as indeed a goat or two could although maybe more damage would happen, Yes Geese.

Move. No property is worth feeling unsafe in your own home. There are lots of beautiful houses out there - many on the at risk lists. Can't imagine living somewhere like that. We never even lock our doors at night, leave our windows open when we go away, don't lock our cars, leave our handbag lying on the table. Maybe we're naive but ... My neighbour even once let herself in, and borrowed our bath (as her water was off) while I was working in the office in the garden and I didn't even know she'd been in. Vicky

I hope your insurance company aren't watching this site!!!! :wink: Inclined to agree on the move. We were in a lovely Victorian villa in a certain town in Worcestershire, but hated its location and moved within a year! Must say though, its great if you're somewhere you can leave doors/windows open, but theft from country properties in the most peaceful and low crime areas is growing, so watch it.........!

I appreciate your concern but I can't agree.

As soon as I saw this house I had that gut-wrenching utter "this is mine" moment, I have never experienced such love or excitement for an inanimate object, and I looked at hundreds of houses; this is the one forever! Despite everything I am more in love than ever.

Problems just have to be solved.
