Don't be upset, I bought everyone on here a goat each, and sent it off to the third world.

Er, 'scuse me! I don't remember being asked whether I want my goat sent off to somewhere-or-other! I happen to regard goats as my intellectual equals.

Actually, Mrs P has just observed that she's got one old goat already - why would she want another?

for Penners - a proper book-lined study in which he could compose his contributions to PPUK. And for MrsP? - an instant brand-new hip.

Some kind ideas, thank you Moo, particularly the latter. As for the study - I shall be starting on that once the bathroom is finished. However, I shall avoid lining it with books. A study lined with Eagle annuals doesn't really carry much cred, does it?

Apologies all round, I am one of the worst offenders there! I should know better - especially as I'm just getting to the point of needing glasses again. I had my eyes "zapped" a few years ago - for reasons of practicality rather than vanity - glasses are such a pain if you ride motorbikes, especially off road!

At the time the surgeon said "As you get near middle age, you will without doubt need reading glasses....." - Caught myself doing the "holding a menu at arms length so I can actually read it" routine the other day.....

A decent sized workshop and a nice country house on the Lincolnshire/Norfolk border to be near some of the lovely PPUK folks would come in handy too.

OK, I've chosen you the beautiful lighthouse, once owned by the naturalist and painter Sir Peter Scott, that looks over the stunning landscape of the Wash at Gedney Drove End. You might get seals in your garden.

It will all be under water in 100 years unless we grant Biff's wish: an immediate end to global warming.

We'd need a canvas where the lady was in tears inspecting some shabby bodge or another, then opens up the computer to find a cheery message from Penners and is all smiles. The chief story could be interjected with scenes depicting Penners tippetty-tapping away on his computer in the cupboard, Nigel in the bath with his Blackberry, and Mr Property Hunter on the train reading it all and getting crosser and crosser at all the expensive suggestions the wife's cyber-friends were making...
