Nothing wrong with silly hats!
Mrs F made some bottles of chilli oil (with our own home-grown chillies), some pickled walnuts, spiced apple chutney, pickled eggs and some lovely carrot-cake cupcakes.
All looked lovely and when packaged nicely, made wonderful gifts.
We're planning on getting ourselves an antique dining table for Christmas....otherwise we couldn't afford to eat for the next 12 months.

Lovely hat Nigel! Would suit you very well I feel.
You all know my prosaic Christmas present to tie me to a hot stove for evermore but here are some things I'd choose for you, if I were Fairy Godmother and could wave my wand.
Gareth and Penners- that exploding sundial thing. I might have to get Mr Hughes a nice country house in Lincs as well so I could pop over and steal his books.
Nigel- the best sewing machine currently available, perhaps a collection of Hogarths too?
Moo - knock down some of the stuff behind her house and make her a nice big garden complete with vegetable patch.
Jaqy - get her locks sorted so she can move in at last, after 14 years.
Family Wiggs- set him up with a good herd of Gloucester Old Spot.
robgil - where to begin? Some new walls.
Me - I need a townhouse, and an army of servants.
Jon Maine - also another house, let him take his pick off SAVE's register.
jocelyn plummer - an afternoon with me in Liberty's with unlimited spending?

I'll pop over to Harlaxton and see what can be done about your house - a good choice, the lovely Gregory pub is directly opposite and do excellent Lincolnshire sausages and deals like all the steak you can eat and all the wine you can drink for £10, so you wouldn't need to cook again.
Agree with Moo's revisions (except that despite all her protestations to the contrary her house is beautifully neat), and robgil- where is it please? Will see what I can do. Robin- pigs in Spring? Really? So jealous, but so so happy to hear that.
What to buy Flyfisher - the man with everything? He doesn't seem to have a dark side - so maybe some collections of Machiavelli, biographies of Stalin, that kind of thing, see if we can bring it out a bit. Failing that, a new tractor? :wink: xx FF had better say what middi wants too.

That's very kind of you Joce. I'm tempted to build up a vintage tractor collection but I'm finding that one vintage house already takes up most of my time.
An original 1957 Fender Precision Bass would be very well received though. :wink:

Mrs FF took the very pragmatic view that as I wasn't actually equipped to feed the little'un there wasn't much point me losing any sleep - especially as I was working and she could catch up with her sleep during the day. But it's all a bit of a hazy memory these days. Being a heavy sleeper must have helped too!

But - I do try and give her some respite at weekends, I can see all the DIY jobs taking a break for a while as I take my 2 eldest out & about to give mum some peace with the baby at home!
