Finally, the bedroom is an empty room: always a poignant moment.
I was completely delighted, as well as rather surprised, to find the boards in a good state under the scabby old carpet.
Is it madness to have bare boards in a chilly bedroom in the winter?
Am I right in thinking bedroom floors in 18th/early 19th century cottages would be simple painted pine boards with rag rugs?
