Engineers can never earn as much as business executives, sales people and accountants. This theorem can now be supported by a mathematical equation based on the following two well known postulates:

Wonderful house for an engineer. I write engineering simulation software (make up numbers and draw pretty graphs). I started working for a startup as the 2nd full time employee but was actually the 1st as I had been working before anyone else as a contractor, and was told I would get shares options. I never chased this up as I know/knew nothing about business as I've been too busy doing useful stuff. 5 Years later no shares and I've been told I won't get them. They'd have been worth quite a lot now, and probably a fortune in a few years. Stiffed because I'm not a pushy arsehole.

You're looking at this glass half-empty, PP. If you HAD been business-orientated, then you'd have diversified into other stocks, assumed greater risk and been wiped out by the 2008 crash.

Don't let this stuff eat you up. Focus on what's still possible and ignore what's done.

Also...house prices in wales are far, far below uk average, and I think we got the house for a bargain even in the local market. But don't tell anyone - it looks quite posh!
