Moo, I reckon you've done it again! Today'sTelegraph Property section cites East and West Dulwich areas as being amongst the most desirable suburban areas in which to live---Lordship Lane is mentioned too!. An eye for the up and coming!

I'm extremely reasonably priced (although I may not fulfil all of the criteria for membership of the YMCA).
They've been trying to sell the YMCA building for years. A while back they thought they had a buyer, but it fell through as a result of one of the financial crises. Because their residents/clients/ patients came in with such a wide range of problems they were/are aiming at having a number of specialist centres rather than lumping them together under one roof.
It's sad about James's place, though it looks as though the shop is going to carry on for a while. The workshop is right at the back of the building and is a fascinating place, full of pieces of furniture in various stages of repair and cupboards full of jars and tins of special substances. Chris, who presided over it when we lived next door, provided us with a veritable witches brew of waxes for our floor. It had to be applied, hot, with a mop, and created an instant patina. For PPUKers who are keen on traditional tools and techniques I reckon it would be worth a trip, if only to see what's there.

Has anybody mentioned that softened water really isnt good for babies and young children? You should leave the kitchen taps unsoftened, Numptie plumbers will get around this by leaving the garden tap unsoftened but really I wouldn't, you might not see a problem now but the next owners of your house may have young children and not know the kitchen tap is softened with salt.

Thanks for the tip off Gareth--- that is going to be some sale--- a date in my diary-- it is sad though-- I have a couple of bits bought from them 30 years ago.
