I think that was me. Not newly-cleared, though. It was a Comprehesive Redevelopment Zone in the 1970s, resulting in the levelling of all the Georgian quayside buildings, since when it's been a car park.

Yup, that's the car park, and as you say not newly cleared but a product of the last Sack of Bath. They never learn.

Has anyone told Wilkinson Eyre and EH about this then?


(And what about poor old Churchill House - a fine building in its context...)

I must get up to date with it all. Last I heard the Environment Agency was still insisting that the spot for any academic building wasn't on the Newark Works site and they could block it as there were alternatives.

Bath Council seem not to be listening though.
