wood burning stoves?

Boys - now you are getting silly!!
Am puzzling now about the kW specification as we are about to install a 7kW stove - which (according to the groovy calculator) would be double the spec we would need for the actual room based on dimensions alone (14'x12'), however - the room is accessed from the front door and porch, has 2 external (rubblestone) walls and a further internal door to kitchen - which in turn is open to the stairs up to 1st floor - wont the draughts alone take away half the heat produced?
NB Try not to bamboozle me with technical heat efficiency calculations and jargon about losses etc as have female brain and am blonde (and technical info is just NOT interesting - I essentially want to know if that end of the house will be toasty warm or stupidly hot )

shelli - I'm afraid that's something that can't be determined here. Only a properly qualified expert can determine the exact characteristics of an individual building or a single room, in terms of its thermal insulation, heat leakage and so on. But you're right - things like external walls, draughty windows and/or doors, chimneys and so on will all impinge on the decision as to what optimum heat output your woodburner should have.
