We had a similar experience.....the rubberised coating on our wiring had perished.....live touched the metal conduit in the loft...this went live...touching some pipework...leaving the water coming out of the shower and the taps in one bathroom as live!!!!

Well, well... my sister lives in Williton, and I never knew that place existed. Must pop in next time I'm visiting.
When I was a lad, I had a bakelite radio in my bedroom. I was allowed to listen to "Dick Barton, Special Agent" and "Journey Into Space" on it, but my sisters weren't, because they programmes were considered too scary for them.
