Wind turbines - anyone got one? any tips?

We've got a friendly local digger man, £25 an hour all in, took him two hours to dig loads of deep trenches along the length of the drive, well worth it to see the havoc the next day!!!

We've got a friendly digger driver too. But the drive's a mile long, so it would take a bit longer than two hours.

There's nothing like having a digger up for a bit of fun, is there? Always cheers me up.

DWB, just had a thought: didn't we give you some radiators a few years ago? If so, we're not too far away from you. You could come over and look at our wind turbine if you like, and have a chat about it. It's easier than typing.

If I were an hour or two away, Jane, I'd really love to come. But, being utterly wet and a weed, I baulk a bit at the 12-hour round trip. But thanks so much for the thought.

It depends. First time I saw this done they were round spheres and looked ok. If you use an earthcrete mix, green plant life will grow on them and they blend in. Short wood posts also work, but not as well.

Surely the whole point of boulders is that they carry a tacit message - 'Keep away from me if you value your vehicle', and as such they should be clearly visible.
Otherwise you'd be wasting precious time helping visitors to disimpale their cars.

That's certainly what we do - the gurt big boulders to stop people driving up on the verge in front of one of the barns are regularly limewashed.

They need to be seen, yes. I dont see that that would be a big problem with neutral natural colours, its not like visitors new to the house will be racing down a privte dead end single track road.
