Who has the oldest, and who the youngest "period" property?

Ours is 1904, possibly 1910 - I need to do some research. Quite new as far as these things go!

mine has been documented to have been here between 1520 and 1580 , apparently it replaced an earlier building but there has been a tenement here from the 1300's.

An interesting question, which makes me ponder the definition of 'period property'. There are, after all, some very modern architectural styles; are such buildings generally regarded as 'period'?

Ours dates to 1550, but I know it's not the oldest here.

Coincidentally, I was talking to someone yesterday who has a 1340 cottage in Cambridgeshire, though the owner was unaware of PPUK so that probably doesn't count in this context.

Unfortunately, ours can probably claim to be the youngest:

1850(ish): 20%
1970: 40%
2008: 20%
2009: 10%
2010: 10%

Mine - Regency - is a mere child in comparison to many!

I remember we had a member on here - what was her user name again? - excited about her late 1920s house, and I think there's been a 1950s house as well.

Ours is late 1920s but on the footprint of an 18th Century weavers' cottage. keep digging up giant lumps of roughly dressed stone in the veg patch...

Ours is predominantly C16 with some revisions and additions made in the 1600's, although there was a dwelling on the site in 14-hundred-and-frozen-to-death.

Our house is 1896, so a youngster in the scale of all the dwellings on here. I do have all the original deeds though from the sale of the land by the Parish to the developers from 1895.

I have a good friend who regularly uses that phrase, but this is the first time I've ever heard (or seen) it used by anyone else.

We have woodwork dendrodated to trees felled in the "autumn of 1290", and jointing evidence of "no later than 1300." Main crosswing roof is dated 1450, whole lot has been thoroughly messed about with over the years so hardly an untouched medieval gem. We also have a small mid-Victorian extension,
Son wanted to call it Blackadder House as he identified a "medieval bit, a Tudor ceiling, a Regency room and Edwardian fireplaces" to fit with the episodes.

Would love to try and find out more about early phases but the documents don't really give enough information to identify this particular house. Has anyone else done any successful house history this far back?

not that far back but i have copies of or snippets of documents dating back to the 1500's that mention this cottage also snippets dating back to the 1300 mentioning the tenement it stands on,among others there is something about some cows damaging a lady's pasture.

Ours is 1550-1650 (ish) - with a nice 1970s makeover, which we're slowly and carefully undoing.

My Welsh is not yet up to tracing back past the Census records.

I think our best guess for the house is 1750-1800 probably nearer 1780ish. I have found the name of the place referenced back to 1500's as a small manor, but it became one of the largest farms in this part of the county in the 1800s and early 1900s. Sadly it went into decline which became terminal in the 80's was sold off, lost its land. Threshing barn and granary were sold & converted by developers about 7 years ago, but we bought the house in a pretty neglected poorish state in 2006. I'm frightened to post a pic of it as it is a mass of painted render which may offend a few watchers! However what damage is done is done and i quite like the look of the place anyway!

A new build, at 1899. At least, that is when the mortgage was taken out, so we presume it was built then.

We haven't got the original deeds, but we have got a typed transcript of them that was taken when the house was sold in 1940, which is nice - gives us much more insight into the history of the place.
