Actually, I think he's a planning officer, asking why they haven't applied for PP to make modifications to the house.

Middi to Earth , hello.
I thought, it feels nice to be missed, then thought, I should really come up with a good excuse and be respectfull to these nice people, then thought again and decided " sod it" I will tell them the truth.
Now, before you all get very exited in thinking that i am standing in cement boots in the deepest part of some river on the instructions of some mafia Don you are out of luck.
The truth is ( and this applies especially to newcomers to DIY restoration) that restoration can become very obsessive which leaves little time for anything else if you want to achieve your goal before you die. This must, in most part, hold true otherwise it can ( in extreme cases) lead to divorce , murder of wife or husband if you are really lucky the children and in very extreme cases the pets.
I can only type two words a minute therefore not been able to spend much time in front of electronic gadgets which tells me how I should behave otherwise they just go blank, stop working and unable to discuss the withdrawal of services in a civilised manner.
It is labour of love in my case, my daughter is very poor and unable to enlist help or pay me ( like all children they never pay their parents anyway) if I drop a hint now and then she hints back as to how lovely my grandchildren are. ( I never had the heart to tell her that I nearly strangled them on a couple of occasions).
So there you have it , I hope to get more involved on ppuk once I have more time on my hand.

Know that feeling only to well Middi, hope that its an enjoyable distraction. I too have been distracted recently ( sadly on the main part boring rubbish )so you have not been alone in your absence.
