I was trying for 'detached' when I bought this place. But only two rooms are attached and the walls are at least 20 inches thick. We don't hear anything through them. But where you could come unstuck, I suppose, even with a thick-walled house, is in the garden. We haven't - we own the gardens on each side. :wink:

An end-terrace with garden on three sides might work - you'd have somewhere to escape to.

I know Wales is ruled out, but good to see that detached with an acre and seclusion is possible for a shade under £150,000.

With my limited-but-ever-improving grasp of Welsh pronunciation, "Cwmsychpant" is a slightly unfortunate name. Interesting-looking property though.

Gareth , i suspect if you dig deep enough into that concrete extension you may well find some lovely old cls and plasterboard stud walls dating as far back as the early 80's. perhaps even some artex and when you couple that to some exposed joists under the lovely period flat roof and some early 80's diy decorating and what you would have there is a lovely period 80's common as muck flat roofed extension with no character or charm what so ever.
its just a pity the rest of the building is so old and cottagy looking.
