Actually it wouldn't dissolve the zinc, zinc is used to protect other metals as in galvanising...anyhow I digress as all appears to be well and your taps look amazing! Well done.

ive used a polish that ms robgil brought back from a trip to john lewis one day. i was dubious to begin with but i tried it and it worked ok. it leaves a kind of silicon coating on the brass which inhibits tarnishing.
although ive also heard good things about car wax for brass.

the polish? its called 'anti tarnish brass and copper polish' , its a john lewis own brand which is why i was dubious as im not a huge fan of john lewis stuff.
they sell it in waitrose , im not a big fan of waitrose either , more a tesco's man my self. saying that though any supermarket brings me out in a cold sweat.
