Just caught the very end of "Restored to Glory" an old one I think and saw a Middi. Too much coincidence for it not to be.


Wish I had seen the whole programme. And I wish I could see the Gervase one again.

Some random satellite channel. Only had access to the tv because husband working away. I don't usually sit in the same room as him.

UK TV style seems to be featuring it this week. There appears to be only one more property left, then a special one off showing a compilation of seven properties.

I think the last prog features Jon Maine and the Merchant's House.

I thought the BBC had confined the "restored to glory" series to the dusty archives by now. It was 3 years ago that they made it.

The last program is a do's and dont's of restoration and features extracts from the preceeding seven part series. The well restored merchant house ( Jon maine ) is also well featured.

I had the great treat of watching Gervase on one of the digital channels the other day.

Well he just sits working on his laptop (typing very loudly) with telly constantly on Top gear or racing and it drives me mad.

The bloke came out this morning and fitted a new aerial.

Seems that the heat from the stove going up the chimney had melted part of the old one.

Still can only get four channels though (and BBC2 is now on the blink so it seems we need a new TV. Ho hum...). Only lasted 15 years.

No, no snow today, just torrential rain and wind. We aren't this week snowed in as we were last, but the burn is on the rise.

He is typing autocad drawings and boring health and safety things. He seems to think his keyboard won't work unless each key gets a good thwack.

It's anger. Don't need to waste cash.


(Actually it's cos I learned to type on an ancient Imperial sit up and beg, black with glass sides and a cork roller, round keys etc, and in order to have any effect the keys needed to be banged with force. Old habits etc.)

So did I, but the only problem I've had with a keyboard was when our daughter tipped a cup of coffee over it. Mind you, it was a very pleasant surprise when I discovered that a replacement cost just under £20 (John Lewis - never knowing undersold, or overstaffed).
When I get angry I just type faster. Which is a waste of time because I then have to spend time correcting all the mistakes.
