There are such things as 'salt stabilisers', our damp wallies gave us a small quantity that was left over from what they'd used. It saw little if any use when I patched the failed plaster that had been outside the scope of their cementicious tanking so cannot say if it would have made a difference.

I was given some of this stuff too (might be a different brand) its often a prerequisite of the warranty when you get a liquid dpc or tanking.

I’ve had tanking done many years ago in1990 but a company did it while I was not living in the property so I don’t know what was used. It was an old cellar under my thatched cottage at the time. Worked very well.

Always worth a read of the MSDS. In this case, just two ingredients listed. alcohol ethoxylate which is a surfacant (a.k.a. washing up liquid), and acetic acid (vinegar) at a 15-30% concentration. 40% acetic acid is the strongest solution possible (otherwise known as glacial acetic acid). Will certainly neutralise any salts and also eat in to stone & mortar, but it would be much cheaper to buy white vinegar from your local supermarket.
