Treating Wooden Beams

The tubs of beeswax from Liberon are available in the better hardware stores. There's just enough turpentine mixed in to give a squidgy texture that is easy to smear on with a rag.

I wouldn't spray, it'll get everywhere and stay everywhere.
Linseed is very easy to brush on, don't know about beeswax, not used it.

We've now had the beams sandblasted and are ready for waxing. I'm unable to post any photo's as don't have available web space or experience etc... If anyone can assist and post some photo's for me I would be very grateful.

You'll be surprised at how well a fairly small picture will work, Hannah. Yours are both around 500k, which is (as you've seen) un-necessarily large. Next time, try something about 50k.

We used Strippers stuff very successfully, but you need to know what you are removing to get the right product. We have finished the beams with beeswax and I prefer this 'softer' finish to oil.
I assume you are not listed.Our conservation officer would have something to say about sand blasting
